Frequently Asked Questions

What is Qigong?

Qigong is a simple, easy to learn moving meditation practice. The simple, gentle movements actually create and automatic state of meditation, so no prior meditation experience is necessary. In fact, students have reported that meditation happens for them automatically when practicing Qigong. This has to do with the simple, gentle movements – it relaxes the mind and brings about a state of calm and peace.

This state of calm and peace, along with movement, create enormous health benefits. Qigong improves circulation, lowers blood pressure and calms and heals the nervous system.

The benefits of Qigong have been studied and proven scientifically in the West, giving it validation in America. In China, Qigong has been used for thousands of years in a clinical medical environment, with the benefits proven time and time again. In the West, we like our science to prove that it works, and it has thanks to the work of many great doctors and Qigong practitioners such as Roger Jahnke and Ken Cohen.

Are there any long term commitments?

No, there are no commitments.  Classes are available for purchase individually or as part of packaged deals. Our goal is to provide you with access to Qigong training to improve your life and well-being.  Once purchased, the course is yours to access on the site.

Is there a possibility of injury practicing Qigong?

The main principle in Qigong is to only practice within your own limits. Qigong is not like Yoga or Stretching – more is not better, more is worse. The idea is to be as gentle as possible.

You should consult your doctor before beginning any new exercise or routine. Those with specific injuries, such as spinal injuries or lower body injuries, might want to modify the exercises per their doctors recommendation.

The movements should never cause pain.  If you feel discomfort, it is advisable to not continue the practice and instead focus on relaxing and breathing. If you’re unable to do either, you should seek medical advice.

Qigong itself is low impact and gentle – but it must be practiced in that way. Take it easy and slow!
